THE FAIRY RING

What is this place?

Right now it's just an idea I'm trying to bring to life.
I don't know about you, but I don't like being at the mercy of "algorithms," these clunky, invisible mechanisms trying to predict what will keep us “engaged” instead of what might actually expand or enrich us.
The worst part about them is that they just don't work very well. Most of what they serve me feels boring or repetitive, and I can't shake the feeling that we're all being forced into smaller and smaller boxes based on what the algorithm thinks (often wrongly) we want.
The internet wasn't always like this. I remember when you could stumble across a strange and beautiful corner of the web or of YouTube and discover these rich veins of fantastic creative work, work that you found, that you really valued, not just okay content that was delivered to you on a soulless, algorithmic platter.

Maybe this is an impossible task, but that’s the feeling I want to bring back, the sense that you can actually discover things yourself, without the help of any algorithm but by following a path set out for you by creators in the topic you're interested in.
So that's what I want to try to build here. Right now it's very preliminary, but the idea is to create a sort of old-fashioned web-ring for fairy creators.
How it might work (in theory):

We'll start small, maybe five or six like-minded creators? I'm thinking YouTubers, writers, artists, musicians, podcasters, or independent publishers who create content about fairies or folklore.
Each member would:
-
Link to this Ring page in their video descriptions, About sections, bios, or websites, newsletters, whatever.
-
Be listed here as an official stop on the path.
-
Occasionally feature or promote another member’s work.
-
Encourage their audiences to follow the Fairy Ring to discover other great fairy creators.

This page could act as a central hub, linking all the members, or we could even start a YouTube channel dedicated to the Ring with no original content, just playlists featuring videos from members. That's the idea so far. If you have any ideas as to how something like this might work, or how to improve on what I've proposed, I'd love to hear it.

If you're a fairy creator and this interests you, please reach out to me directly or fill out the form below and let's talk!
